The Wretched is a collective name for the undead who have appeared in Remon after the outbreak of the Plague of Undeath in 1017 AE. Although most of the undead are mindless and instinctively hunger for the flesh of the living, some of them have retained their sentience, most notably their leader, Deathwatcher Arbriel Conrad. Arbriel has limited magical control of his more mindless undead brethren who flock to him, and he has used them to take over most of the human-populated areas in Central Remon with the notable exception of Ravensworth. The Wretched currently rule from Remonton which they have taken over after the outbreak of the plague.
