Sargon Locken, also known as Sargon the Mighty, was the King of Libaterra and member of the House of Locken in early Third Age. He was the son of King Baal Locken and Queen Shajar Locken and half-brother of Hamilcar Locken. He married Dinah Locken and fathered a son, Shiloh Locken.
Following his father's death, Second Prince Sargon challenged First Prince Hamilcar for the throne of Reign and prevailed, becoming the second reigning Locken monarch. He was responsible for killing Hamilcar and Hamilcar's son Hostus Locken in a coup but spared Hamilcar's daughter Flavia Locken in what was described as an act of 'kingly mercy'. Scholars continue to debate what truly prompted the famously aggressive king to do so, however, when he had otherwise meticulously destroyed his brother's legacy.
While royal chronicles mention that Sargon was called the Mighty because he continued his father's campaign of conquest throughout Libaterra and subjugated many peoples not only by force but with treaties as well, some scholars believe that the name was also meant to be subtle mockery of the king's accomplishments due to his failure to conquer the Tronin Desert which was led by Tronin, the legendary first Sarquil. It is speculated that Sargon's mother, Queen Shajar, may have been related to Tronin by blood, and Sargon may have wished to use this connection to attempt to wrestle control of the desert for himself only to be met with fierce Sarquil resistance and being forced to abandon his ambitious plans for the desert.
Sargon was succeeded by Shiloh who, in a surprising act, married Flavia, thus leading to the reunification of the Locken dynasty which preserved the royal bloodline.
