Primordials are eldritch, immortal beings who existed before the gods and elementals in the dawn of time. The Essence in Light and the Watcher in Darkness were two known primordials who were sealed into transdimensional prisons by the gods after the Void War. Little is known about these beings save that they have spawned 'children' such as Dwellers and Starspawn whose actions became more prominent after the Cataclysm in the Third Age, some obscure cults have risen in the Land of the Living to worship them, and that their motives and goals appear to be utterly alien and beyond mortal understanding. It is unknown if the Unnamed Evil, which later became Death via possessing the god Thoth, is a primordial or some other, unrelated force to primordials, gods and elementals.
