Krauss lived the life of a wandering dwarf in Western Libaterra and eventually joined the Mullencamp cult which was centered around Glaurung Losstarot who promised equality for dwarves of Libaterra. He served as a Mullencamp operative ever since, specializing in acquiring potentially useful artifacts, items and weapons for the Crimson Coalition's mages and for Countess Endoran L'Sarius.
Heart of DarknessEdit
Krauss learned that the Coalition's agent in Maar Sul City had managed to find a blacksmith to smuggle a powerful artifact out of the city and into Trinity Gask. He waited until the blacksmith, who called himself Devin Gale, showed up in the Witch Elves inn in Trinity Gask and then approached him. The blacksmith quickly told him what he wanted to know, and Krauss took the hidden artifact from him and took it to another room to test that it was the genuine thing.
The test was successful, and Krauss returned to pay the blacksmith for his services before he left to deliver the artifact to its intended destination.
Krauss presented the artifact to Endoran L'Sarius, his superior. However, Endoran quickly realized that the artifact had been tampered with and was useless to the Mullencamp in its current state. Krauss realized that the only person who could've done something to the artifact during the journey had to be the blacksmith who had delivered the artifact to him, and Endoran sent the dwarf to keep an eye on the blacksmith so that the Mullencamp could learn if the blacksmith was indeed guilty of tampering with the artifact and the presence dwelling within it.
Krauss soon spotted the blacksmith who called himself Devin Gale among the crowd and that the blacksmith was rallying drunks to go fight a witch in Survivor's Woods. The dwarf decided to use this opportunity to blend into the crowd so he could better keep an eye on the blacksmith.
