Hydras are ancient, serpentine beasts with many heads which can regrow if cut. Little is known about them except that it's said they once roamed freely with other beasts in the First Age before civilization began spreading. One hydra, possibly the last of its kind, was locked up in a magically sealed basement of the Whitehawk manor in Etheril in the Third Age until Arcturius accidentally set it free in early winter of 1017 AE.
