The Demon Realm is a general name given to the realm where demons live in. The demon capital of the realm is Norash'namun, the first great demon settlement after they began practicing agriculture. The portal which Mardük opened in Yamato at the end of the Great War gave demons a safe passageway between their realm and the Land of the Living. Another, less known entrance to the Demon Realm was hidden within the Remonian mountain range near Fragnar until it was sealed during the events of Darkness Within. Jezebeth and Persephone Barca tried to open another portal to the Demon Realm, this time in the Celenian capital of Illunii, but was thwarted in the end by the Dresdens.

The realm was initially populated by the forest-dwelling daeva who had some humanoid avian features and were gradually corrupted into humanoid and bestial demon breeds with more bat and lizard like features by Mardük's influence. The world also contained the demons' rivals and predators known as ogres who dwelled in the city of Naraka as well as the apsara who had once allied with daeva to oppose the aggressive ogres. Following the defeat of the ogres and the fall of the apsara, demons became the dominant race in the realm, initially led by the Lucifer Clan who would be overthrown by the House of Zarnagon in a later civil war.
