Almaric Veer was a cleric of the Church of the Memory of Cardia and one of the leading figures of the Faithful. He was also the half-brother of Tywion Crowley and a member of the House of Veer. Almaric led a task force of the Faithful to capture Refan d'Zarnagon, his nephew, in 1016 AE and succeeded. Later on he revealed to Unithien Greyrain that Refan was in fact a half-demon and that the true purpose of the Faithful was to keep Remon safe without letting the public know about the existence of possible demon spies. Almaric was captured during the Proninist coup in Remonton and executed publicly as an enemy of the state. His death eventually reached the ears of Tywion who immediately began gathering his forces to counter the Proninist threat in Remon and Maar Sul, which would lead to the forming of the new Grand Alliance a year later in the Remonton Summit.
